The fertile North is the “green heart of Ibiza.
Authentic 300 year old fincas and farmland, set the tone here. Mountains and stunning views from the higher points overlooking the valleys and the sea, will bring you happiness and peace while staying at the bohemian north side of the island. It is here where the hippies settled down in the seventies, and Sant Juan these days has become “the place to be” for seekers of quality living.
A wide number of trendy restaurants with healthy food are to be found in this area, such as La Paloma and opposite the old church on the square of Sant Juan there is The Giri Cafe, with a beautiful veggie garden and a comfortable open-air lounge. All year round, on Sundays, the church square and the small streets, are transformed into a hippy market and a “meet and greet” between expats and tourist. The hippy market in Sant Juan has grown into one of the nicest of all these markets and also displays ecological products.
There are some fantastic and unspoiled beaches in this area. Villa Bohemia is located few minutes from Sant Carles, Las Dalias hippie-market and the sandy beach of Cala Llenya with the clearest water, ideal for diving. The impressive Villa Bute, Dar Quarda House and also the spacious Villa Can Namaste are other properties you can rent, not far from Sant Juan, more centrally located on the road to the lively village of Santa Gertrudis.
Furthermore, you should not miss the beach of Benirras with some hippy chic restaurants, or if you wish, the nudist beach of Aqua Blanca, close to Sant Carlos.
